Book Description
Everybody knows Cate Cahill and her sisters are eccentric. Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. But the truth is even worse: they're witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it would mean an asylum, a prison ship—or an early grave.
Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word . . . especially after she finds her mother's diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family's destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.
If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren't safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood—not even from each other

Follow Friday #2

What book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?
Hmmm... I usually avoid nonfiction books. I find them boring. Fiction books are way better because it's interesting, plus the usually impossible things becomes possible. Sometimes I wish I was a character in a novel instead!
I also avoid novels about wars, etc. Really not a big fan of it.
How about you guys?

Review: Dearly Departed ( Gone With the Respiration 1) by Lia Habel

Title: Dearly Departed ( Gone With the Respiration 1)
Author: Lia Habel
Published: October 18th 2011 by by Del Rey

Book Description:
The year is 2195. The place is New Victoria—a high-tech nation modeled on the manners, mores, and fashions of an antique era. A teenager in high society, Nora Dearly is far more interested in military history and her country’s political unrest than in tea parties and debutante balls. But after her beloved parents die, Nora is left at the mercy of her domineering aunt, a social-climbing spendthrift who has squandered the family fortune and now plans to marry her niece off for money. For Nora, no fate could be more horrible—until she’s nearly kidnapped by an army of walking corpses.

But fate is just getting started with Nora. Catapulted from her world of drawing-room civility, she’s suddenly gunning down ravenous zombies alongside mysterious black-clad commandos and confronting “The Laz,” a fatal virus that raises the dead—and hell along with them. Hardly  ideal circumstances. Then Nora meets Bram Griswold, a young soldier who is brave, handsome, noble . . . and dead. But as is the case with the rest of his special undead unit, luck and modern science have enabled Bram to hold on to his mind, his manners, and his body parts. And when his bond of trust with Nora turns to tenderness, there’s no turning back. Eventually, they know, the disease will win, separating the star-crossed lovers forever. But until then, beating or not, their hearts will have what they desire.

Follow Friday #1 , TGIF #1

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. This week's featured blog is Pretty in Fiction and Butterfly-o-Meter Books.

Question of the Week:

What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Answer: Hmmm... I actually didn't do anything crazy for a book. I didn't want any fights or whatsoever, so if I really want a particular book, I patiently wait for it's release and buy it. Lol! Boring answer. I know. *sighs*

TGIF was started over at GReads! where the blogger re-caps their posts during the past week and answers the question that is proposed for that specific Friday.

Recommend It: Which book from the last 10 you've read would you recommend to a friend?
Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson! It was a light and fun read for me and I definitely recommend it to all Paranormal/Romance fans! :D

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" is:

Something so Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
Hardcover, 400 pages
Expected publication: July 24th 2012 by HarperTeen

There’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

I definitely can't wait for this one! The cover was the first one that caught my eye, then the plot itself. It really seemed interesting, and hopefully I won't be disappointed.  :D
