But are all members of Sarah's group really loyal to their cause? And will Sarah and Sean finally find a way to be together? Or will Elodie's vision of the death of Sarah Midnight be realised?

Tell us a little about Spirit?
Well, Spirit is the third book in the Sarah Midnight Trilogy, the first two being Dreams and Tide. Sarah is the heir to a Secret Family, a web of hunters who protect the world from demons. Sarah’s parents are mysteriously killed and she finds herself having to take up their battle, with the help of her long lost cousin, Harry Midnight. But Harry is not who he says he is, and Sarah’s life suddenly takes a very dangerous turn. The three books follow her as she discovers her true powers and sets on a
quest to save the world from the King of Shadows, together with the loyal, strong, generous Sean and a company of friends. Spirit takes place in a parallel world, the Shadow World, which is frozen in time from millions of years ago and full of fearsome predators. It concludes the trilogy, so readers will get to find out how everything ends for Sarah and Sean and their friends.

Dreams was published two years ago. Can you tell us about your journey in writing Spirit?
It’s been incredible. A real challenge and an opportunity I’m so grateful for. Sarah is one of my favourite characters among the many I’ve created, and I find it hard to believe we have now parted. Dreams was such a powerful thing to write because I put my heart and soul into it, and Tide was a roller coaster of emotions. Writing Spirit was bittersweet because I was glad to tie all those loose ends together, but it was so hard to say goodbye to Sarah, Sean and their friends. The finale is quite explosive, and I suspect my readers will shed a few tears – just like I did!

What’s your next project?
Well, I’m working on a companion for the trilogy and on a short story with Sean as a protagonist, which I hope to release soon in one way or another. In the meanwhile, I’m writing another adult book, Let Me Fly, set in Scotland. My two first adult books, Watch Over Me and Take Me Home – both set in the same little village in the Highlands – have been very successful, so hopefully my readers will enjoy this one as well.

Sneak peek!
Oooooh, cheeky! J Okay, here you go: ‘Sarah caught a glimpse of Sean’s profile as they were driving on – his handsome features were tense, tight. But underneath the fear and tension, Sarah could truly see him, see his essence – eyes clear as a summer morning and the golden skin of someone who’d grown up in a sunny place, still not faded after months in Scotland and now through the European winter. An image took form in her mind – she and Sean in each other’s arms, alone, in the darkness… But immediately, she chased it away. What was the point, if Sean was convinced they couldn’t be together?’
