Book Description:
A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

My Thoughts:

I read the Throne of Glass Series by this amazing lady and it’s one of my favorite books. I know for sure that A Court of Thorns and Roses will definitely be a great hit.

My first impression right away after reading 3 chapters is magical! Oh this is so magical! Sarah lured me on the dark side of the feys. Not only is it dark but sensual as well. This is not a Young Adult but a New Adult read.

The world-building is extravagant. Sarah made sure that readers will be allured! I never want to go back to reality after finishing the book.  Her writing style is amazing! She made a complex world easy to digest. It’s intricate and dreamy.

I also love how the story unfolds. It was all dramatic at the beginning, action-filled in the middle, suspense in the end. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will put you on the edge of your seat. It’s a brilliant title! I was satisfied! I actually thought that the book is closing mid part since I was contented already; little did I know that Sarah has more under her sleeves.  The ending is gruesome and heart-pounding and memorable. Yes, this is one those books that will make you think all day. A book hangover.

The character-building is also good. Sarah has the tendency to make kick-ass heroines. Feyre is a smart! I envy her courage and love for her family. She’s the type of protagonist that you would admire. Tamlin is not your typical prince charming. Well, he is the beast in the story alright! But he has this tendency that will draw you into his inner being. It’s deep right?  There is more under his mask. And there’s Rhys, the dark one. Not only did he got under my skin but he got inside my heart too. This bad boy will make you want do anything he wants. There are more characters that are vital and amusing. HOT men alert! You have to buy a copy now.

The romance-angle is one of the best one out there. It’s epic and out of this world. How far can you go for the one you love?

Lastly, the story is more on the adventure side with slight action and full of emotions. This is not a light read but a deeper one. I cried, smiled and was completely overwhelmed.
Overall, this book is better than the Throne of Glass Series. There I said it! If you like sexy romance with adventure then this book is for you. Julie Kagawa Fans will enjoy this title.

I give this 5 Whales.

  1. This book is going on my favorites shelf and is destined to be re-read. And for me, that's saying a lot. I don't typically re-read books because I have a giant stack of new books waiting to be read for the first time. I don't know how Sarah J. Maas does it, but it seems like each new book she writes is better than the last!
