Book Description:
After spending six
hundred years on Earth, Seraphina Ames has seen it all. Eternal life
provides her with the world's riches but at a very high price: innocent
lives. Centuries ago, her boyfriend, Cyrus, discovered a method of
alchemy that allows them to take the bodies of other humans from jumping
from one vessel to the next, ending the human's life in the process. No
longer able to bear the guilt of what she's done, Sera escapes from
Cyrus and vows to never kill again.
Then sixteen-year old Kailey Morgan gets into a horrific car accident right in front of her, and Sera accidentally takes over her body while trying to save her. For the first time, Sera finds herself enjoying the life of the person she's inhabiting--and falling in love with the boy who lives next door. But Cyrus will stop at nothing until she's his again, and every moment she stays, she's putting herself and the people she's grown to care about in danger.

My Thoughts:
Will Sera have to give up the one thing that's eluded her for centuries: true love?
I thought this book is another paranormal let down, it wasn't. I actually enjoyed this book very much. The cover is beautiful and the plot is interesting. I love how the author made the characters believable. They feel so real to me. The story starts with Sera meeting Cyrus in a masquerade party. She was stabbed and Cyrus saved her with an elixir. Sera is now an immortal, a soul who can take over another body. I can't say more to avoid spoilers. The story is short and beautifully written.....
I like Sera's character, she's strong, courageous and wise. I like the part when she ran away to escape Cyrus. The running and paranoia heightened up my adrenaline. I really wanted Sera to escape because Cyrus is so creepy!!! He is obsessed and power hungry. He treats Sera like his Queen but puts her in a cage like relationship where only he can have her. The story became more interesting when Sera accidentally takes over Kailey's body. Everything has changed, she is literally posing as Kailey Morgan...from immortal to being normal. Then she fell in love with Noah, Kailey's neighbor. With Cyrus on her trail, she puts her family and new found friends in danger. Will she able to escape Cyrus for good? you have to read this book to find out.
Overall, this books is amazing. An excellent read. I recommend this book to people who loves suspense with a hint of romance. There is a MAJOR cliffhanger in the end!!! I can't wait for book two.
I give this book 4 whales
