REVIEW: THE SECRET SERIES # 2: IF YOU'RE READING THIS, IT'S TOO LATE BY PSEUDONYMOUS BOSCH

Title: If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Author: Pseudonymous Bosh
Published: October 1st 2008 by Little Brown Young Readeres
Book Description:

Beware!
Dangerous secrets lie between the pages of this book.
OK, I warned you. But if you think I'll give anything away, or tell you that this is the sequel to my first literary endeavor, The Name of This Book is Secret, you're wrong.
I'm not going to remind you of how we last left our heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest, as they awaited intiation into the mysterious Terces Society, or the ongoing fight against the evil Dr. L and Ms. Mauvais. I certainly won't be telling you about how the kids stumble upon the Museum of Magic, where they finally meet the amazing Pietro!
Oh, blast! I've done it again. Well, at least I didn't tell you about the missing Sound Prism, the nefarious Lord Pharaoh, or the mysterious creature born in a bottle over 500 years ago, the key to the biggest secret of all.
I really can't help myself, now can I? Let's face it---if you're reading this, it's too late

My Thoughts:

Its now time for my review for the second part of the Secret Series. With a new adventure this time it is a good continuation from The Name of This Book is Secret.

This time, the author for the second installment introduced some new characters which made the story more interesting. SPOILER! With the addition of a 3rd person to accompany Max-Earnest and Cass, it kind of follows the pattern of a trio-group protagonist (remember Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Hunger Games in sort of way, also Twilight and other series) Personally I don't mind this pattern. Just make sure you make the story more interesting and I think Pseudonymous did.

The continuity is there. If you read Book 1, the talk of Alchemy is evident and in this book we delve more into the subject. Also with a new objective and fresh idea this book is just as interesting to read as the first one.

I just dont like some parts of the story.

I think the witty comments from the author that I really liked from the first one is reduced.

The mother of Cass is very annoying even though there's a good reason for it.

The entirety of the book is interesting, but there are just some dull moments in some part of the search for ..... (nah do you really want to be spoiled? :D read the book) (Now I am sounding like the author because I'm making side comments too. haha)

Over-all it is still a good read..just a little downgrade from Book 1.

I give this book 4 whales.
