Book Description:
Dak, Sera, and Riq might be in over their heads when they attempt to stop a Viking invasion!
Hundreds of ships carrying thousands of warriors are laying siege to medieval Paris. The Parisians are holding their own, but the stalemate can only last so long. And that's bad news -- especially since Dak has been captured, forced to work alongside the Vikings while Sera and Riq defend Paris from within. No matter which side wins, the kids lose!

My Thoughts:
And here we are folks arriving to my review of Book 2. If you have read my previous review and then went here you are an awesome person. I'm giving you 10 million awesome points.
So to start this review, this book is not written by James Dashner. It was written by Carrie Ryan. It really follows the format of 39 Clues of different author per book. And I could say this book is 10 times better compared to the first. I think the pacing is great and the number of pages (even though it was basically the same length as the first) is sufficient enough to tell a good and properly ended story.
So here we are now with another history involving the Vikings and Franks. Just by saying the Vikings this is making it already a large scale adventure compared to the last time. And time is really not wasted with this second installment. Enemies and Friends and what will happen is already established within the first 50 pages of the book and then the action starts after that.
As I said good pacing is the stronghold of this book. Events happened at the right time at the right place with some mistakes here and there which is actually good because it broke the "perfectionism" of their intelligence which was portrayed in the first book.
The only thing that irritated me is that Dak once again with his "good" sense of priority did a thing again. I know it's essential to the story but come on. Set your priorities straight dude.
So with so many positives this time I can say I can give this book 5 whales.
Jeeeej, 10 million awesome points for me :p When I saw "Carrie Ryan" in the title, I was almost immediately persuaded. In my last comment I said I wasn't sure about this series, but I loved her other series. Her writing-style is great, so I think I'm going to like this one too! :) I'm happy that this one was much better than the first one, nice review.
