Interview: Daniela Sacerdoti

Tell us a little about yourself?
Well, I’m 38, I have a degree in Classics and I’m the happy mother of two lovely sons. I love books and music and I’m addicted to Nutella! I’ve always wanted to write, but it took me a long time to find the confidence to send something out to publishers. I have tons of notebooks, poems, stories, unfinished novels…

Book/s you are currently reading?
I’m about to sink my teeth into City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare. She’s brilliant, I can’t wait!

What inspired you to write “Dreams”
It was a combination of many things, and the book brewed for a long time. I saw a girl at a bus stop, over six years ago – she had long black hair and her face told a story – she was Sarah Midnight. I still have a little black notebook where I wrote the very first words: “You’d never think it could happen to you…”
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Chilling with my boys, cooking, and reading, of course.

While you were writing, did you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?
Yes, I am Sarah in many different ways. But most of all, I am Eilidh, the main character of my first book, Watch Over Me. You can find Watch Over Me Here

If “Dreams” has a theme song, what will it be?
It does have a theme song! It’s called Do This Alone and it was written by Kirstyn Knowles and Jenny Masterson. This is the link: http://amarysso.bandcamp.com/ . It’s an incredible song, so beautiful – I’m very lucky to have found Kirstyn and Jenny, they interpreted Sarah’s voice so well.

   Favorite Starbucks Drink?
The same as Sarah: hazelnut hot chocolate!:)

“Thank you Daniela for your time”
