Title: Fifty Shades of Grey
Author: E.L. James
Published: April 2012 by Vintage
Book Description:
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
This book is intended for mature audiences

My Thoughts:
You know what I did not have any idea that this book existed until it made to the local news here in my place. And among the news everyone was saying it is an erotic book which is a big hit with older women. I researched it and found out that it was originally a fanfiction loosely based on twilight? Im not sure but I think that was it. So I said to myself, nope I would not let myself fall again in another Twilight-like book. So I did not read it and ignored it.
But then everyone was talking about it even my friends and I hace no clue as to what they were talking about so finally forced myself to buy the book set and try reading the whole thing.
It was a surprise this book. I've never read an erotic book before. The closest I read sex on book which was detailed was from Sidney Sheldon's Books. But it was nothing compared to this. It was actually a lot of sex as you go on the book.
I liked the book with its sex parts :D But I dont like that some parts are unrealistic. There were parts that were a little bit fast in pacing and some are slow. But there were some spot on moments as well.
When Anastasia and Christian was together I also can't help but laugh because there were some innocence in the personality of both.
But I did not like the ending. That was the most ridiculous ending I've read for a while now. It was very unrealistic to me and kinda confused.
I give this book a fair 3 whales out of 5.
My bestie Lisa is so in love with this book, but I still haven't decided to actually read it. I love that all Random House employees got a 5 K Christmas bonus because of its success. It makes me feel very happy.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
thank you :D if you are open to any ideas and mainly sex related read you can try this :D

I had absolutely no idea what this book was about when I first read it... and it caught me a little off guard as I rarely read erotic novels. ;) This wasn't my thing, but I'm glad you liked parts of it well enough. Great review!
ReplyDeleteI know its not suited for most of the people but my curiosity really took over me. if this was not popular I think I will not read it.

This book just sounds ridiculous! It makes me laugh. I haven't read it, but I'm glad that you enjoyed parts :)

it is indeed ridiculous... it's only popular because of its erotic nature and mainly the media hype
