Review- Here (On the Otherside #1) by Denise Grover Swank

Title: Here (On the Otherside #1)
Author: Denise Grover Swank
Published: November 7th 2011
Book Description:
Sixteen year old Julia Phillips buries herself in guilt after killing her best friend Monica in a car accident. Julia awoke in the hospital with a broken leg, a new talent for drawing and false memories of the accident, in which she dies and Monica lives. The doctors attribute this to her head injury, but no one can explain how a bracelet engraved with her name ended up at the scene of the accident. A bracelet no one has ever seen before. Classmate Evan Whittaker paid Julia no attention before the accident, let alone after. Now suddenly he’s volunteering to tutor her and offering to drive her home. She can't ignore that his new obsession started after his two-day disappearance last week and that he wears a pendant she’s been drawing for months. When the police show up one night looking for Evan, he begs Julia to run with him, convincing her that Monica is still alive. Julia agrees to go, never guessing where he’s really from.

My Thoughts:

Would you sacrifice your entire World just to find your love again?

This book is engaging, I was hypnotized by Denise Swank. The story is one of a kind, I was easily absorbed in Julia's world. I can't describe the setting since it contains clues/spoilers about the story. I was literally at the edge of my sit while reading this book. I was eager to know more about Evan. This guy is so mysterious! I was putting him in some kind of supernatural categories. Is he a vampire? werewolf? ghost? angel?... the list is almost endless.  You have to read the book to find out who/what Evan really is.
Julia is the heroine here, at first I was totally irritated by her. She lets people bully her and was deeply consumed by guilt, because she blames herself for killing her best friend, Monica in a car accident. Then Evan, the most popular guy in school suddenly became interested in her. He volunteers to be her tutor. The two became close instantly. But how can a guy like Evan suddenly became interested? She was a nobody before the accident... Evan has never even talked or looked at her before the accident... Is it curiosity?
You have to read the book to find out
Overall, this book is an enjoyable read. The only thing that I don't like, is the prologue. I was confuse at first but after reading a few chapters, I was on it instantly. There is also a LOVE TRIANGLE!! I would recommend this book to Dystopian lovers/readers.
I give it 4 whales
